Summary:
The Operator Technician will maintain and operate equipment in an assigned department. The position is responsible for maintaining optimum levels of production efficiency, spoilage and quality levels while working in a safe manner and complying with all Safety and Quality procedures.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Operate assigned production equipment in the department.
• Perform daily safety checks to ensure safe work habits exist and correct hazards.
• Maintain cans, ends, and auxiliary equipment.
• Production and quality assurance checks and documentation.
• Perform frequent dimensional and visual quality checks.
• Assisting in trial runs (SMA’s).
• Participate where needed in the installation of new equipment.
• Takes responsibility for 5S/Housekeeping stages, waste elimination through workplace organization.
• Participate in LSS (Lean Six Sigma) projects.
• Demonstrate Food Safety policies, GMP’s, and HACCP.
• Make recommendations for process improvements.
• Conduct inventory of materials to ensure sufficient stock to maintain operations.
• Be available for callouts in cases of emergencies and breakdowns.
• Operates forklifts safely.
• Sorting defective product.
• Support packaging/ Palletizer systems.
• Provides break relief assistance.
• All other duties as assigned by Management.
Experience & Qualifications:
• 4 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with Electrical knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to inspect, troubleshoot, monitor and problem solve.
• Previous experience with conveyors (Line Operator, Press Operator).
• Familiar with SDS sheets, food safety regulations, and 5S.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Working knowledge of measuring devices.
• Demonstrates attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret written documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to operate equipment safely.
• Must be team oriented with good energy and initiative.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills.
• Ability to work any shift including 12-hour shifts, weekend shifts, holidays, etc.
• Seeking candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Upon hire, it may be necessary to submit a drug test and/or criminal background check.
• Upon hire, proof of identity and U.S. employment eligibility is required.
Schedule & Pay:
Must be flexible and willing to work 12-hour Shifts!
• Will rotate working Days & Nights monthly.
• Day: 6:00am-6:00pm $23/hr.
• Nights: 6:00pm-6:00am $25/hr.
