    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The Material Handler is responsible for the flow of material through the production process including feeding material to the cut/coil areas, transferring material between work centers, and moving finished material to the dock for shipping. The material handler is also a key part of the quality process, checking job paperwork for completion and ensuring teams have signed off on their work. Material handler must be proficient on all basic inventory transactions in the scan guns and able to accurately enter movements and quickly look up items.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate and stage materials (reels, pallets, and other essential supplies) in queue for production areas.

    • Coordinate flow of in-process work between workstations, deliver finished product to dock for final processing with all related transactions entered in the inventory system.

    • Load/unload trucks and place supplies in warehouse and on pallet racks.

    • Verify material counts and quality inspections are complete and accurate for finished material before removing from assembly tables.

    • Ensure assembly team has signed off on job paperwork.

    • Perform inspections and maintain records for forklifts and other material handling equipment.

    • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area

    • Responsible for communication and assisting managers and co-workers

    • Load reels of wire and cable on pallets according to size and quantity of reels. Place finished product in pallet racking, stage for shipping/receiving for in-house operator or outbound freight carrier.

    • Check calibration of footage counters on regularly scheduled intervals.

    • Input production data into specified data collection program.

    • Loads wire and cable on spindle and threads wire though stranding machine and around take-up reels.

    • Load/unload reels on twister, take-up and pay-off machines.

    • Responsible for learning and understanding new product line associated with machine.

    • Load/unload reels on buncher, take-up and pay-off machines.

    • Ability to interact with MMI controls supplied with machine.

    • Demonstrated ability to repair and weld wire when needed.

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Machine Operator 2 is responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of wire stranding & bunching equipment. This position always requires the individual to be safety conscious and comply with all environmental, health and safety (E.H.S) procedures. Successful candidates must be able to follow company policies and procedures, be able to communicate and cross train fellow employees and maintain a clean and organized work area.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

    • Ability to set up, operate and monitor wire stranding & bunching equipment. This includes reporting deviations and quality issues to manager or the quality team.

    • Loads wire and cable on spindle and threads wire though stranding machine and around take-up reels.

    • Load/unload reels on twister, take-up and pay-off machines.

    • Responsible for learning and understanding new product line associated with machine.

    • Load/unload reels on buncher, take-up and pay-off machines.

    • Ability to interact with MMI controls supplied with machine.

    • Demonstrated ability to repair and weld wire when needed.

    • Maintain a clean and organized work area

    • Responsible for communication and assisting in cross-training

    • Input production data into specified inventory programs.

    • Help maintenance with Preventative Maintenance programs when needed.
